2024 is the year of the Dragon.
Being a dragon, I think that should mean something. It might be the year wherein I will finally get some resonant traction going with
a) social media b) general exposure and c) book sales.
Marketing of oneself remains a perennial problem for many, many people. Most of us, at one time or another have given Facebook a crack, but jeez Louise, some of us find the ever changing buttons, the polarization and just unsavory aspects so arduous, that the whole thing is now pretty daunting. So much so, that it’s become necessary to re-learn how to love it.
To that end, the beginning of Angry Dead Women’s next three episodes will be dedicated to MARKETING…. as opposed to dead gals in history. Today’s installment features Facebook groups and why you might love having one.
If you are one of those people, please stay tuned while my friend Sam describes how Facebook groups have worked for marketing his band, The Chain Gang Band. He does so very calmly and simply and I am sure you will find Sam’s comments as helpful as I have.
When you’re ready to ramp up and create a Facebook group of your own, below are two YouTube videos I thoroughly recommend.
The first is from Lyfe Marketing, the second is by a guy named Jerry Potter.
Following my chat with Sam there’s a brief discussion with my good friend and colleague Diane Hatz, whose journey with her debut novel bears keeping mind. Diane has done a soft launch and she’s also done the hard launch.
Beginning again needn’t be a step backward. Beginning again is merely a re-set, an adjustment, and something always worth pursuing.
That wedding I went to -- all the little gifts were dragon themed! Bride is a dragon.
What a wonderful panel, you, Sam, Diane! This was not only helpful in a practical way but also full of the motivation i needed to start a new week.
